Shelby Boisjoli (pronounced Bois-jo-lee) grew up in Alberta, Canada. Not only is she a great breakaway roper, but she also spends her time raising and training horses. She competes with her horse Root Beer, as well as her horse Onna who won the inaugural Nutrena Horse of the Year presented by AQHA in 2021. Shelby went to Ranger College where she won reserve champion at the 2019 College National Finals Rodeo. She has since gone on to win other big rodeos and qualified for the National Finals Breakaway Roping in 2020. She earned the 2021 Women’s Rodeo World Champion All-Around Cowgirl title and is going into her second National Finals Breakaway Roping ranked as the number one breakaway roper in the world.
