Boots on the Ground at the Pendleton Round-Up

This year Twisted X® had the privilege of attending one of the oldest and most renowned rodeos in the United States: The Pendleton Round-Up. This historic event is held annually in Pendleton Oregon, dating all the way back to 1910. A true Western celebration, this rodeo draws top competitors and thousands of spectators from far and wide to come and experience a collision of rich historical tradition with the present day.

In addition to it's culturally significant past, the Pendleton also stands out from the rest of the circuit by being the only rodeo held on grass arena grounds. However you can still expect to see a variety of familiar competitions including Bareback Bronc Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Steer Roping, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, and Tie-Down Roping with the highest earning competitor across them all achieving the prestigious title of All-Around Cowboy. But the action doesn’t stop there, you can also catch Women’s Barrel Racing, Women’s Breakaway Roping, Indian Relay Racing, Wild Cow Milking, Indian Dancing, parades, pageants, live music, and local gatherings including the VFW Cowboy Breakfast.

It’s an honor to witness such displays of skill, tradition, and artistry across these events, but for us, there was an extra layer of pride and excitement built in as we cheered for Team Twisted X athletes, Shad Mayfield and Shelby Boisjoli while they competed for their respective titles. What’s more, we also had the opportunity to host a booth at the VFW Cowboy Breakfast, and as proud supporters of the organization, it couldn’t have been a more perfect combination. There, we showcased our VFW collection in celebration of the VFW’s 125th anniversary, and were able to meet and connect with fans of the brand.

Truly, this year’s Pendleton Round-Up was a memorable celebration of the breadth of culture and tradition surrounding the West. The thrill of the competition coupled with rich experiences both in and outside of the arena highlighted the enduring history and camaraderie of this storied event. We’re proud of our athletes and grateful for the opportunity to connect with fans and honor the VFW’s milestone anniversary. Here’s to another year of unforgettable moments and enduring rodeo greatness. Let ‘er Buck!
